1man 1can for Syria

Fellow South Africans!

In August 2011, the 1man1can initiative asked you, our countrymen, to open your hearts to the people of famine stricken Somalia. Within a matter of a few weeks, we witnessed the renowned generosity that South Africans are revered for. You dug deep into your pockets, emptied your wallets and your pantry cupboards and stepped forward as a united nation to assist another in dire need. It is now with great sadness but with great hope that we ask of you again.

This time for Syria. A small country just east of the Mediterranean. A country ravage by recent and on-going civil war since March 2011. A war that has seen the death of thousands and thousands more displaced.
The 1man1can has initiated a country wide collection drive starting on the 28th of August and ending on the 14th of September with the aim of collecting can foods, and specific medical suppliers only that will be delivered to Syrian refugees in Yemen. With the assistance of the Gift of the Givers, the items collected will be packed and transported to these refugees in dire need of any help.

Follows us closely as we publish details of items to collect and collections point in your area. Banking details for the Gift of the Givers will also be published for those that want to assist in transportation and facilitation cost

Rice, Flour, Oil, Sugar, Peanut Butter and the following tin foods:

Baked beans
Spaghetti

Tin Soups
Powdered milk

Please check that the products you collect have at least 3 months further shelf life and are not damaged.
