Lift your hands in prayer. Your Lord is Ever-Attentive

There are moments in life, when despairing of hope and frustrated by the circumstances we are in or the hardships we face, we sit on our prayer mat overcome with tears. It is that moment that we are closest to our Allah. For Allah is pleased when His slave begs of Him (Ta’aala). This begging, laying bare of our worries is a clear manifestation of dependance on Allah. At this time we are testifying that no human has the ability and power to assist us. We are testifying the Greatness of our Powerful Lord.

Allah Ta’aala says in the Holy Quraan: And your Lord says: Call upon Me, I will answer you.” (40:60)

In another verse:

“And when my slaves ask you (O Muhamed) concerning me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me. So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright” (2:186).

“I have headed towards the door of hope, while people were sleeping and I started to put my complaints before my Lord.
I said: You, my hope in  calamaties, on whom I depend to keep harm from me. I complain to You about things You know and which I can no longer tolerate. I have extended my hands in a state of humiliation and poverty to You, The best to whom  hands have ever extended. Do not return my hands with nothing. Your sea of generosity can accomodate all those who are thirsty.”
